First off, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Honestly, every day I think about Indian
and Thai food, and Mexican. Food here is fine, but just kind of normal and
nothing too exciting! I have been making a lot of pumpkin pies. I’m
becoming pretty good at it. Haha. But my oven burns everything so it´s a little
tough!
Today for Pday we had a Thanksgiving
meal with chicken and pure de papas. [mashed potatoes] And I made pumpkin pie! It
was a lot of fun. We then played Minute-to-Win-it games!
Yesterday were the Argentine
presidential elections, so we had to be in the house at 4pm. So we spent the afternoon
studying and cooking. It was weird!
The leadership stuff is stressful but it´s getting
better! I’m really enjoying it. Life is good and everything is chill. We have
had some amazing lessons! Like dude,
where you leave and are like, “I didn´t speak there, that was the spirit type
lessons!”
Ramon: Ramon is incredible. He is
reading the Book of Mormon on his own and always tells us what he is learning. He
told us that he knows that the restoration is true and that Joseph Smith was a
prophet! He knows that we baptize in the right way and he is working through
the repentance process. He is changing every day! He is on a business trip and
he sends us messages of what he is learning in the Book of Mormon! Our lessons
are so spiritual and it really feels like what everyone talked about, when you
see the change in others because of the gospel, it is like nothing else!!
And JOSE! Jose came to church last
week, right? Well, then we visited him and he said that he really liked it. And
that he wanted to buy a himnario [hymn book] and that he wanted to go in a
white shirt and tie! He took out his earring and he told us that he hadn´t
smoked or drank for 5 days! He wants to change for his family and be an example.
Our lessons with him are also so spiritual!!! Like we leave and Hermana Nunton
and I just say, “Wow”. The spirit really guides our lessons. They´ve been probably
the most spiritual lessons that I have had in my mission.
Life is going really well. All is calm.
We had zone conference last week. It is always amazing to hear from Pres. LaPierre
and Hermana LaPierre. They are amazing people!
I love you all and hope all is going
well!
Happy Thanksgiving
Hermana Newell
