This past week was incredible!
Honestly the miracles of God are real!
If you remember last week I talked
about the Hermana who brought her friend to church. Well, that friend is
Graciela. On Wednesday we had a lesson with her and the member, Hermana Carla.
It was incredible! We started to talk and gave her Lesson 1, the Restoration.
The whole time she was like, yeah that makes sense. At the end she asked, “So
when can I get baptized?” Hermana
Martinez and I were like, uh.... and she asked if it could be that very week!
We told her she had to come to church at least two more times and had to
receive all of the lessons. So we put a baptismal date for the 18 of June!
We made a cita (appointment) for the
next day. Thursday we taught Lesson 3, faith, repentance, baptism, Holy Ghost
and endure to the end. Then she wanted to keep planning out her baptism, who
was going to baptize her and all. She has had a recent surgery, so she had this
past week off of work. She starts work
again this week and we are going to try to fit in all the lessons, short and
sweet, so that she can be baptized! She wanted us to give her all the pamflits(
I don’t remember how to spell that word haha)-pamphlets- all at once. So
she has been reading! She said that she prayed and that that night she drempt (dreamt)
of a river of gorgeous water and a man in white was inviting her in. She is
determined to be baptized! But this Sunday she could not come to church because
she was super sick from her operation. Now the baptismal date will be the 25th.
She is amazing!!!
Bernardina came to church again this
Sunday! Now she has come 3 times and she has her baptismal date for the 18th of
June!! She is amazing! This past week we taught her the Word of Wisdom and that
day she stopped drinking coffee! I love her!
This is the crazy story of the week!
So Friday night we went to Obligado to help our sisters out in their area
because Hermana Loaiza still can’t walk. We asked the conductor of the bus to
let us know when we got there but we are in Paraguay and they forget things. So
anyways when we went to ask if we were close they told us that we had past the
stop like 40 minutes ago. ¨What??” So they let us out there at that stop.
We
got off the bus and it was like 9 at night... dark, and in the middle of
nowhere! It was like being in the middle of Nebraska at night in winter. It was
freezing!!
We waited there for a bus going back towards Obligado. We waited and
waited.
It was almost 10:30 and the bus never came. We were like, okay, we have
to do something, so we called a taxi and he took us to Obligado.
It was a heck
of a lot of money, but igual no mas! Anyways the story is longer but I don’t
have time, but all is well and we are safe haha!
Tomorrow is Consejo and today I got
to see Hermana Pitts!!! And she is spending the night with us!!
I love you all!
Hermana Newell
