Bienvenidos Agosto!!!
How weird is that, we are in August already!
This past week went really well! It went by so fast,
honestly, though! We had a lot of very spiritual lessons and were guided a lot
by the Spirit. We had divisions with the Hermanas from Obligado this past Tuesday,
and Wednesday we had our zone meeting. It was very fun. We did an activity
where each companionship received two copies of the Book of Mormon and we had
to go out for 15 minutes and gift both of them along with baptismal invitations.
It was tons of fun. We met a lady and started walking with her. We walked like
5 blocks explaining about the Book of Mormon and at the last part we gave her
one and we invited her to be baptized. She said that if she felt like it was true
that she would! It was super spontaneous but a lot of fun!
On Saturday we had a service activity. We went to the 3rd
branch and did a free car wash! It was so much fun. It was an idea that Hermana
Svec had given in this latest leaders meeting. We liked it so we put it into
practice. Heck, it was so much fun. Most of the time we sisters stood out front
sponsoring the car wash and the Elders washed the cars. All the people looked
at us super weird but we had a lot who stopped and we could wash their cars. Meanwhile
there were two Elders taking their information and teaching about the
restoration of the gospel. It was so great and there were some really amazing
people that we met!
Later that Saturday we went to teach Grisel and Norma, and
they had a service project for us. We helped them clean out their store to be
able to make it bigger. We cleaned and hauled boxes and such. It was a lot of
fun and we were super tired that night!
Sunday went super well. One of the daughters of an
investigator came with us to church. She is 8 years old and we are teaching the
mom as well. Tonight we are having a family home evening with the dad as well. We
are super excited! The mom couldn’t come to church this Sunday but Sofi really
wanted to, so she came with us.
Tomorrow we go to Natalio 10 with the zone leaders. It is in
the other district so it will be a long day but good. Thursday we have
interviews with President Svec!
Keep striving to be your best, God will do the rest!
Hermana
Newell
