Soooo, this week was a roller coaster!
You want the good or the exciting or
the bad first??
Let’s go with the exciting and
unexpected news! WE CAN WEAR PANTS!!!! What the heck?? Where did that come
from?? haha. On Saturday President LaPierre told Hermana Martinez and I the
news. We were the first of the sisters to know! It is because of the zika, dengue
and chikungunya diseases. It is to protect us and 230 other missions! So today
for Pday we went pants shopping! We didn’t buy anything yet. The mission is
going to give all the hermanas money to buy 3 or 4 pairs of pants. So we were
seeing what style and where to buy them. It’s going to be sooo weird!!
Now, let us go with the bad news....
This week we stopped by an investigator’s house. Jani, one of the investigators,
had suddenly moved back to her dad’s house and there aren’t any missionaries
where he leaves. And then, Gabriela, basically told us that she didn’t want us
to pass by anymore and didn’t want to hear about the gospel. Hermana Martinez
has been teaching them for a while and took it a lot harder than I did, but it
was very shocking and very depressing. You really feel for them because you
know that it is the gospel that can really change their lives!!
So the whole week was a rough one;
lots of contacting, lots of rejections, and lots of rain and cold....
And then Sunday rolled around...
Now for the good and spiritual
news!
On Sunday, God really guided our
steps. We went to visit a new investigator that we had found recently, Maria
Isabel. She was home and so was her husband. She had read the Book of Mormon
that we had left her and they both had tons of questions. And they really want
to come to church! Then we went to look for a less active member that we
had on the ward list. She was there but couldn’t talk. But her dad said, “Wait,
our neighbor wants to learn about your church and maybe join it. Can I give him
a call to come over?” We were like, OF
COURSE!
So the neighbor came over, Javier,
he is 19 and he is family of the district president!!! He wants to learn about
the Church and really see what it has! Then we went to visit with a recent
convert. As we were there, she got a call from a friend and she invited him
over to come talk to us! And we got to share with him as well!!!
Victor was baptized in Cuidad del Este this week!!! I am so happy!
Hermana Almada (reactivated) and her mom (less active) |
Hermana Celina, recent convert, she basically only speaks Guarani! |
our investigator Gabriela and her sons, Benjamin and Santiago. |
God really loves us and always knows
that we have the desire to work and will always bless us! I love this work and
know that it is true!!
